Food That Look Like What They Are Good For


Hey, guys!

So I found this website while I was “surfing the web” randomly. And it really caught my attention, which is how interesting it is! The title of the page is “Foods That Look Like Body Parts They're Good For” and it’s actually really cool and self explanatory. Here is a summary of the information Amanda Greene gave and the pictures are straight from that website.



1.    Carrots



"’Carrots are filled with vitamins and antioxidants, like beta-carotene, that decrease the chance of macular degeneration, the leading cause of vision loss in older people,’ says Sasson Moulavi, MD, medical director of Smart for Life Weight Management Centers in Boca Raton, Florida.” It’s a perfect picture of a slice of carrot and when you look at the carrot, it really looks like an eye with the rays and everything! So guys, on salads that you might order from a fast food restaurant, eat your carrots!

2.    Walnut

 
“…According to Lisa Avellino, dietitian for Focus28 Diet, ‘they [walnuts] have a very high content of omega-3 fatty acids, which help support brain function.’" Again, the walnut really looks like a brain with all the creases and where the side view of the walnut looks like a top view of a brain. Also it’s ironic that nuts are “brain foods”.
3.    Celery


                                 
"’Celery is a great source of silicon, which is part of the molecular structure that gives bones their strength,’ says Dr. Moulavi.” Celery looks like bones because of the long celery sticks packed together, kind of does look like bones, huh?
4.     Tomatoes

"’Studies have found that because of the lycopene in tomatoes, there is a reduced risk for heart disease in men and women who eat them,’ says Somer, registered dietician and author of Eat Your Way to Happiness.” I actually always thought the tomato resembles the heart and blood because they are always so bright red. So guys, on your hamburgers that you get from McDonalds, dont take out the tomatoe!

5.       Ginger
I actually remember when I was a kid, every time I had an upset stomach, my mom would always buy my Ginger Ale soda to “calm my stomach” and surprisingly it works. Now every time I have a stomachache I drink Ginger Ale. “According to Dr. Moulavi, ‘gingerol, which is the ingredient responsible for ginger's pungent scent and taste, is listed in the USDA database of phytochemicals as having the ability to prevent nausea and vomiting.’” So what anyone can easily do when they are eating at a fast food restaurant, isntead of drinking Coca-Cola, drink some Ginger Ale
